The Elevator Machinery in Use Since 1899

Located underground, the massive hydraulic elevator machinery designed by Gustave Eiffel that has since been restored and computerized is still in use today.

However, access to this machinery is closed to the public.

Gustave Eiffel carved by Bourdelle In 1929, on the initiative of the Ferrié General a subscription was open for the realization of a bust of Gustave Eiffel.
This monument was carried out with the foot of the Tower Eiffel, Créé by the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle assisted of the architects Auguste Perret and André Granet, the bust was installed with the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
On May 2 the sculpture was inaugurated by the Secretary of State at the postal and telecommunications authorities in the presence of many scientific personalities and of the Eiffel family.

Souvenir shops offering Eiffel Tower and Paris souvenir items can be found on the ground level at the foot of the pillars, as well as on the first and second floors.

This cafeteria offers a choice in dishes and drinks for fast dining. Other cafés are located on the first and second floors.
